“Hello, my name is Carly and I’m an altoholic.”
Carly is a doctoral student at Texas Tech University, where she studies the instructional design of RPGs and contemplates how to gamify the writing classroom. She’s a lifelong gamer (card, board, video) and keeps a spreadsheet to keep track of her various alts, which are currently found across more than 20 different MMOs, including WoW, Rift, Neverwinter, The Secret World, DCU, SWToR and many others. Her all-time game favorites include DK64, the Ratchet & Clank series, and the Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance titles. She feels lucky every day that she gets to play games and call it “research.”
